Malayalam film director Nissar passes away at 65

Renowned Malayalam film director Nissar passed away on Sunday at the age of 65. He had been undergoing treatment for liver and lung-related ailments.

A native of Changanassery in Kottayam, he will be laid to rest at the Changanassery Old Mosque graveyard.

Nissar made his directorial debut in 1994 with Sudinam. The following year, he helmed Three Men Army, featuring Dileep and Prem Kumar in the lead roles.

Known for working with modest budgets, Nissar carved a niche for himself by narrating stories through comedy. His films include Achan Rajavu Appan Jethavu, Newspaper Boy, Adukkala Rahasyam Angaadi Paattu and several others. Over his career, he directed around 24 films.

His final directorial venture was the 2018 release Laughing Apartment Near Girinagar.
