‘Kanchana 3’ — a horror comedy in Tamil

Choreographer-turned-director Raghava Lawrence is back with his third film from the Muni film series.

Titled, Kanchana 3, this is touted as a horror comedy, like his earlier films, Muni 1 and Muni 2: Kanchana.

Lawrence, who has also scripted and directed the story, plays the lead role, with Taapsee paired opposite him.

Kovai Sarala, who played the actor’s onscreen mother in the earlier two films, will be seen again in Kanchana 3. Nithya Menon plays a role and this is a special week for the actress with a Mani Ratnam’s O Kadhal Kanmani also releasing.

A cocktail of horror with punches of comedy is the promise from Lawrence.

Kanchana 3, like this weekend’s other Tamil film, O Kadhal Kanmani, releases in the UAE on April 17 as part of a simultaneous roll-out with Indian cinemas, distributors told tabloid! on Wednesday.
