One for the Dileep fans this weekend

S.S. Rajamouli’s 2010 comedy thriller Maryada Ramanna was a commercial success. Film lovers would have recognised the story from a Buster Keaton film, Our Hospitality, made in 1923. Last year, this Telegu story was remade in Tamil with Santhanam in the lead as Vallavanukku Pullu Azhudham. Now it’s out in Malayalam this weekend with Dileep and Nikki Galrani in the lead.
The story is about Raman, who works in a rice mill in Pune and when he hears about a legacy he boards a train home. Enroute he meets a woman and accompanies her to her house, not realising that he will become the target of an old family feud.
Produced by Anto Joseph and directed by newcomer Suresh Divakar, Ivan Maryadaraman, comes with action and comedy.
Telegu actor Nagineedu, who played the antagonist in the original, reprises the same role here. Fun fact: The humble bicycle plays a crucial role in the film.
Ivan Maryadaraman is a typical commercial entertainer with all masala intact. Dileep fans will have everything they look for in their idol. As for the rest, watch it at your own risk.
