The first round of the Celebrity Badminton League was played at Kochi on September 24.
The game began with the Chennai Rockers facing Karnataka Alps and the Tollywood Thunders competing against the Kerala Royals.
The winners of these matches, the Karnataka Alps and Kerala Royals met in the finals. Karnataka Alps took the trophy.
Actor Jayaram playing for Kerala Royals received the Best Male Player award and Abanika of Karnataka Alps won the Best Female Player prize.
The next round of CBL will be held at Hyderabad on October 22 and the finals at Kuala Lumpur on November 12.
