When Shyamaprasad joins an IT company for a second career post retirement, he confronts a new world under his young boss Shravya, a modern woman.

Director Narendra Babu of Kannada film Hottegaagi Genu Battegaagi elaborates — Shyam considers the institution of marriage sacred and he is not prepared for the lifestyle of software professionals and their live-in relationships.

This is Babu’s third film and features Anant Nag and Radhika Chetan in the lead. Babu’s debut film Kabbadi won the Karnataka Best First Film award (2009). His last film was Santheyalli Nintha Kabira — a bio-tale of saint Kabir.

An admirer of Nag, Chetan could not believe that she was working with the veteran actor on her fifth film.

“Nag sir was completely involved in the film, often giving us suggestions without enforcing anything on the team,” said Chetan. “He was more a mentor. Listening to his experiences from life and career was inspiring. I carry back fond memories.”

With this film, Chetan bust her earlier image of essaying meek women. “Shravya is a strong personality,” she said. “The feedback has been encouraging.”

Ramachandra Hadapad has composed music. P.K.H. Das has handled the camera. Hottegaagi Genu Battegaagi is produced by UAE resident Harish Sherigar (who last produced March 22 in Kannada) and releases in the UAE on June 28.
