What can you expect from a film with 22 comedians? Tamil film Aintham Thalaimurai Siddha Vaidhiya Sigamani (ATSV), directed by newcomer L.G. Ravichandran, promises plenty of laughter.

Bharat and Nanditha play the leads and are supported by Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran, Manobala, Singam Puli, Badava Gopi and others. Need we say more?

“I wanted something different for my 25th film and found Ravichandran’s script sensible.” said Bharat, known more for experimenting with his roles; his last in Tamil was Aindhu Aindhu Aindhu, in which he is seen with a six pack.

“The film doesn’t define itself as a comedy, but holds a special message on the significance of Siddha medicine and how education is important to everyone,” he adds.

Kannada actress Nanditha plays a homely girl called Nandini.

Referring to a marriage scene in the film involving all 22 comedians, Nanditha said: “It was great fun. I am sure the audience will enjoy this scene. While I completed my portions with ease, it was really challenging for director Ravichandran to manage the big star cast together.”

Produced by Pushpa Kandasamy and S. Mohan under their banner, Rajam Productions, ATSV has music scored by Simon. Check out Elarai by Gana Bala and Congolese rapper Yabama Jo, a fusion of Tamil kuthu and Congo’s Lingala.

Aintham Thalaimurai Siddha Vaidhiya Sigamani releases in India on August 22.
