Sonakshi Sinha makes singing debut with Hollywood film Rio 2
The actress has also voice-overed for a character named Jewel for the Hindi dubbed version of the film
Sonakshi Sinha has not just dubbed, but also sung a few lines for Hollywood 3D animated film Rio 2.
The actress has lent her voice for the Hindi dubbed version of the movie. She has voice-overed for a character named Jewel, a macaw. Actor Imran Khan has also lent his voice for one of the characters.
“I enjoyed dubbing for Rio 2 because firstly, it’s such a fun film, and secondly, because I felt Imran (Khan) and I were perfect for the characters Blu and Jewel,” the Dabangg girl said in a statement.
“There’s a scene where Jewel is dancing and singing, so they made me sing a few lines as well. It was such a new experience. I would have even loved to sing more but unfortunately I am only a bathroom singer.”
The English version of the movie has voice-over by Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg.
Rio 2, an adventure comedy set in the Brazilian city of Rio De Janeiro, is releasing in 3D in India in multiple languages — English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
