Popular music director Shaan Rahman has responded to serious allegations of financial misconduct, firmly denying claims that he defrauded Rs380 million in connection with his recent live concert in Kochi. According to reports, the event entitled Uyire:Shaan Rahman Live in Concert, was held on January 15, and has since become embroiled in controversy following a police complaint lodged by the event director.

According to a report in the Times of India, Niju Raj Abraham of Arora Entertainment filed a complaint at the Ernakulam South Police Station, alleging that Rahman failed to honour a financial agreement critical to the execution of the concert. The complaint accuses the composer of breaching trust and causing significant monetary loss.

In a joint statement issued with his wife, Zaira Shaan, the music director dismissed the accusations as baseless and misleading. The couple claimed they faced several challenges during the event's planning stages, including a fallout with the complainant. “We wish to address the misinformation being spread regarding the Uyire – Shaan Rahman Live in Concert, held on January 15,” Shaan Rahman wrote in a social media post.

“From the beginning, we faced many challenges in organizing this event, including a conflict with Mr. Niju Raj Abraham (Arora Entertainment).” He further noted that the matter is under investigation by the Ernakulam South Police, and assured fans that he has maintained full transparency and integrity throughout the process.

Rahman also alleged that the complaint is an attempt to manipulate public perception and pressure him into an unfair settlement. He reiterated his confidence in the legal system and urged the media and public to refrain from drawing conclusions based on one-sided narratives. The case remains under active police investigation.
