The Scene team spill all on what they're doing, wearing and watching this week...
Greetings from tremendously cold, London! Actually I love the cold (though, strangely, not the an-arctic-fox-would-ask-for-a-cardigan conditions of our office air con!), so I’m in my element in boots, jeans, coat, scarf, gloves – the whole shebang! Today I’m in Knightsbridge with mummy White for a pre-Xmas shopping treat, along with afternoon tea at Brown’s (don’t you just love going home and your parents pay for everything even though you’re a grown-up?). Then meeting the girls for dinner at the totes trendy, Riding House Café in W1 on the 23rd, and after that it’s basically an eating/watching TV free-for all. I’m in charge of decorating the family Christmas table this year and I’ve made place names! Sometimes I am too Virgo for my own good.

I’ve just flown back from a sojourn to see my family in New Zealand (approximately 18 hours in the air did at least mean I caught up on movies – Glee in Concert being a highlight), so this weekend my primary goal is to beat jet lag and stay asleep between the hours of 2am and 6am. The past few days these ‘wee hours’ have been spent playing Angry Birds and watching non-stop eps of Masterchef Australia (Fox, 9pm weeknights), but with 12 people coming round to our apartment for Christmas Day lunch, I’ll need all the rest I can get. Then, post-work on Boxing Day I’ll be hitting the new secret running track I’ve found in Zabeel near DIFC to try to shift the Yorkshires before they truly set in.

Just three days to Christmas and I am feeling très jolly. Along with the fact I will be spending my first Christmas ever in the beautiful forests of Sweden, hanging out with reindeer and eating more than a reasonable amount of awesome Swedish festive food, I am beyond excited about the return of my fave TV show ever – Absolutely Fabulous. Yep, I will be glued to the laptop on Christmas night watching Eddie and Patsy make a triumphant return to the small screen while everyone else in the house is playing charades and fighting over who ate all the purple Quality Street, sweetie. Obviously, I will have hidden all the offending purple wrappers in my (hopefully) very recently unwrapped Chanel 2.55, before skiing off to the local glüwein hangout with the boyf, so no-one will ever know!

I cannot possibly be the only person wandering around in a Christmas Wonderland bubble, jumping from malls to hotels to get my fix of grottos, fake snow and visits to Santa, wearing chunky knits and woolly jumpers the whole time. Yes, I know it’s nearly 30 degrees outside, but I need to do it properly! This year I’m spending Christmas Day at home with family and friends, the way it should be and cannot wait to have my plate piled high with my mum’s delicious turkey and trimmings, with a bit of Bublé on in the background, he’s totally been the soundtrack for Christmas this year. I know that everyone is wrapped up in Christmas this week (no pun intended), but it’s also my dad’s birthday on Tuesday, so I’ll be checking out of Christmas mode and into birthday mode with my family and heading to The Rivington Grill for a delicious birthday dinner. More food? That’s exactly what we’ll be needing, I’m sure.
