Role change for Koena

More popular for her sizzling item numbers, the actress tries her hand at comedy in Apna Sapna Money Money.

Koena Mitra sizzles. And she can impress. Subash Ghai definitely was. The producer of Apna Sapna Money Money got Mitra's role extended and added an extra song sequence too.

Excerpts from an interview.

e+: How do you relate to your role in Apna Sapna Money Money?
Koena Mitra: I love to dance and I love to sing so playing a pop singer was a piece of cake. Besides, I also get to do three wonderful songs. I know that my songs in this movie have taken the story and script forward. I do not want to be branded only as an item girl.

How did you feel when you were offered the part?
To be honest, I was a bit sceptical when I was offered the role initially. I didn't know how I would fit in with big stars such as Riteish Deshmukh, Suniel Shetty and Anupam Kher. But then I knew that I could pull it off with guidance from a good director such as Sangeeth Sivan. So I decided to go for it.

Is there any incident that you like to remember from the shooting?
During one of the shoots I saw this pretty woman waving to me. I didn't know who she was so I took out my handycam and zoomed into the person's face. Only then did I realise that it was Riteish. He looked so pretty, much prettier than me. He impersonates four characters including that of a woman in this film and it's a treat watching him.

What are you working on next?
I am shooting Anamika in Rajasthan. It's a suspense film and co-stars Dino Morea and Minissha Lamba.
