A photographer's eye view on creating public awareness to protect the environment can be said a thousand times through a picture. So grab your cameras and focus your attention to save Mother Nature - a good deed indeed.

And if it's clicked, then expose your photographs to a wider view of the public. Join the Lightform Filipino Photographers Guild's 4th Annual Environmental Awareness Photo Competition with the theme: Green City, Green Community.

This photo competition, which is in conjunction with the annual Clean up the World campaign, pioneered in Australia in the 1980s, is co-sponsored by Dubai Municipality in association with Canon.

The competition is open to all amateur photographers with UAE residence visas. The competition is divided into two categories: Film and Digital.

Photos must be taken within the UAE and cannot be used for commercial purposes. Participants may submit as many entries as they want until October 31.

Save The World, the third prize winner, by Joshue Gavino in last year's photo competition.

Cash prizes, gift vouchers and trophies worth more than Dh15 ,000 await this year's winners. Final judging and gala night will be on November 25 at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai.
