Dubai: Singer Sonu Nigam has gone viral for a beautiful moment from his recent show in Kashmir. At his performance at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convocation Complex (SKICC), he paid tribute to the legendary Mohammed Rafi in a very unique way by using AI to recreate Rafi’s voice and sing a live duet with him.

A fan who attended the event shared the clip online, and people can’t stop praising it. The combination of nostalgia and technology struck an emotional chord, leaving the audience tearful and amazed. Many fans commented that it felt like “technology becoming pure emotion.”

After the concert, Sonu spoke to The Indian Express about AI in music. When asked how he feels about technology recreating voices of icons like Rafi and Kishore Kumar, he said AI should always be a support, not a replacement. “AI should be treated as an assistant, not as your boss. It can help creativity, but it should never replace the human soul that gives music its real essence,” he explained.

The event itself was special for many reasons. Set against the stunning backdrop of Dal Lake and the Zabarwan Mountains, it was the first major show in the region since the Pahalgam attack. For fans, seeing Sonu Nigam perform there and hearing Mohammed Rafi’s voice echo through the hall made the night even more unforgettable.

Online, people are calling it a perfect blend of emotion, music, and innovation. And judging by the love the video is getting, Sonu Nigam’s tribute clearly hit the right note.
