Diva alert: Mariah Carey just kicked off a brand-new era with her fierce new single, Type Dangerous, which dropped like glitter from the music world on Thursday (June 5).

Over a swagger-soaked, beat-heavy track, Mimi is fully in her confident, sultry bag.

“Looking for the dangerous type,” she purrs, oozing glam and danger in equal measure.

“I like them dangerous / That’s my type / I said I love them dangerous.”

Is this is the Mariah we've been waiting for — bold, brazen, and totally unbothered?

The Songbird Supreme teased the track with her signature flair, of course. Fans — aka her loyal "Lambs" — went into detective mode when she posted a luxe video of herself vibing in a high-end car, mysterious track labeled “T:D_MC16.mp3” playing in the background.

The camera? Oh yes, it just happened to zoom in on the license plate: “MC16.”

Translation? New era. New album. Cue the "Lamb" hysteria.

Type Dangerous is Mariah’s first official single in years, following the release of Caution back in 2018 — her 15th studio album, which climbed to No. 5 on the Billboard 200.

Since then, she’s been busy running Christmas like a CEO, sprinkling festive magic with “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and throwing anniversary parties for her legendary discography.

Speaking of anniversaries — can you believe it’s been 20 years since The Emancipation of Mimi?

To celebrate, Mariah dropped a deluxe two-disc edition packed with remixes, deep cuts, and a cappella goodness.

Billboard even honoured the moment by ranking all 18 original tracks. So buckle up fans of the diva.

Mariah’s not just back — she’s dangerous.
