All you need to know about the English singer and songwriter, Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding was born as Elena Jane Goulding in Hereford, UK on December 30, 1986 into a working class family and has three siblings. When she was 16, she separated from her family.
At a university talent contest in 2009, she was spotted by Jamie Lillywhite of Turn First Artists and asked to take a year out to try her hand at a music career.
Her first release, in 2009, was an extended play titled An Introduction to Ellie Goulding. She released her debut studio album, Lights, in 2010 followed by her second album Halcyon in 2012 and Halcyon Days in 2013.
She topped the BBC Sound of 2010 list and was dubbed the “breakthrough act of 2010”. She won the Critic’s Choice Award at the Brit Awards in the same year becoming the second artist ever to win both in the same year.
She sang at the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The royal couple loves her songs and invited her to perform at Buckingham Palace for their wedding.
She is a fitness freak and a keen runner. She has completed over five half marathons and is gearing up to run a full marathon.
She is the new face of Nike and has also collaborated with the brand in 2013 for the Nike Women Half-Marathon in the UK.
She released a second extended play titled Run into the Lights supported by Nike and released through Polydor as a running sound track. It has remixes of her songs from Lights and is targeted at the running community.
