The follow-up to Sigh No More is due September 24
Mumford Sons have announced the release date of their hotly anticipated second album. The follow-up to Sigh No More is due on September 24 so long as the band don’t change their mind and “discover it’s s**t”.
News of the release comes about a month after Ben Lovett revealed he and his bandmates had finished recording the album. Speaking from the stage at this weekend’s Pinkpop festival, in Landgraaf, Netherlands, Marcus Mumford said that the LP is due this autumn. Much like their first album, the new one was recorded with producer Markus Dravs, and despite comments about it being a “doom folk” record, the first taster, Ghosts That We Knew, suggests the Mumfords are mining more or less the same vein of earnest, strummy pop.
