Dubai: Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri just walked away with the Miss World 2025 crown, and the internet can't keep calm.

The 22-year-old from Phuket beat out strong contenders from around the globe, with Miss Ethiopia named first runner-up, followed by Miss Poland and Miss Martinique in third and fourth place.

Opal’s win didn’t come out of nowhere. She was crowned Miss World Thailand 2025 on April 22, as confirmed by Tero Entertainment and TPN Global, setting the stage for her big moment on the global platform.

According to The Economic Times and several other reports, Opal was born on March 20, 2003, and grew up in a family of hoteliers.

She’s currently pursuing a degree in Political Science with a focus on International Relations at Thammasat University, and speaks Thai, English, and Chinese — effortlessly ticking the “global citizen” box.

At 16, she underwent surgery to remove a benign breast lump, which led her to launch “Opal For Her”, a campaign aimed at raising awareness around breast health and early detection.

As for India’s Nandini Gupta, 21 — despite a solid showing on home turf in Hyderabad, she didn’t make it into the Top 8. Tough break, but the competition was stacked.

So, was Opal a surprise winner? Not really. But she definitely made her mark — and the sash proves it. She came, she slayed, and took home the crown - all in vertiginous heels.
