Marvel Entertainment released the official trailer for its upcoming Disney+ series, Ironheart, marking the return of Riri Williams to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). 

The Ironheart trailer, dropped on Wednesday, May 14, teases the series set to premiere on June 24, 2025, with a three-episode launch, according to The Verge.

What we know so far

The series picks up after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, with Riri returning to Chicago and attending MIT. 

She faces new challenges, including a confrontation with Parker Robbins, aka The Hood, portrayed by Anthony Ramos. 

The Hood wields dark magic, setting up a conflict between technology and mysticism, Ars Technica reported.

The cast also includes Lyric Ross as Riri's best friend, Natalie Washington; Alden Ehrenreich; Regan Aliyah; Manny Montana; Matthew Elam; and Anji White as Riri's mother, Ronnie Williams. Jim Rash reprises his role as the Dean of MIT from Captain America: Civil War.

Creative team

Ironheart is created by Chinaka Hodge and executive produced by Ryan Coogler, known for his work on Black Panther

The series is directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes, with each helming three of the six episodes. Filming took place in Atlanta and Chicago, grounding the series in Riri's hometown. 

Action, emotion

Ironheart promises to explore themes of identity, ambition, and the moral dilemmas of power, as Riri navigates her path as a young inventor and superhero. 

The series aims to blend action-packed sequences with emotional depth, offering a fresh perspective within the MCU. 

With its premiere on the horizon, Ironheart is poised to be a significant addition to Marvel's Phase Five lineup, concluding this phase of the MCU.
