Bhatt's compliment
Indian actress and director Pooja Bhatt complimented Meera by saying that she was Pakistan cinema's most brilliant mind. While Meera is glowing with the accolade, her critics beg to differ. They feel Meera's ability to steal roles from other actresses makes her more cunning than brilliant. However, Bhatt also praised other Pakistani actresses by saying that if they were willing to explore roles outside Pakistan, their opportunities to do good cinema would be enhanced.

Back to basics
Laila is back with her sizzling dance sequences. The actress is working on Sangeetha's film Nasha Jawani Da and critics believe that her sensuous numbers should see the film through, if nothing else. Laila wished to do decent roles and got one in Sangeeta's Kangan last year. But with Nasha Jawani Da, it seems Sangeeta has got Laila back to square one.

In protest
Yusuf Khan hit out against the PEMRA (Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority) Ordinance and its strict codes on what is permissable to be aired on television. The actor feels freedom of expression was muzzled and the film industry should not allow it.

Surprise in the offing
Neeli says she will surprise fans this year. Rumours abound that the actress may step into the director's shoes as she does not wish to act in films. Neeli has been rejecting roles continuously for the past few years and more recently was in the news for rejecting Altaf Hussain's latest untitled project as well.
