In denial mode
Meera is denying any connections with an alleged Indian smuggler. "I do not know anybody by the name of Vikram," she told the local press from Malaysia last week, where she was shooting for a commercial. When journalists told her about her photographs that have been published in the local press with Vikram, Meera said the pictures were all false.

Playing positive
Shafqat Cheema may be one villain film audiences love to hate, but he reveals that he entered Lollywood to play the hero. "When I came in, I did not make it as the lead, so I accepted a villain's role," says Cheema. However, the actor hates the fact that his efforts to get positive roles after proving his abilities as a good actor were being thrashed because of professional rivalry. "Some artistes are getting itchy on the subject of me playing the hero," he laments.

New offerings
Younus Malik is back with two new films, Sheela and Puttar Maula Jut Da. The director has been keeping a low profile as he felt that he would only make a film when he got a good storyline. With his new films, Malik looks determined to give people something worthwhile.

A good break
Veena Malik is wowing audiences by mimicking celebrities on Hum Sab Umeed Se Hain, Geo Channel's famous show. Last week, she had people in splits by impersonating Reema and Shilpa Shetty. The actress hopes to get more lucrative roles through this show.
