Failure to launch
Meera failed to attend a press conference called by her to declare her intention to join politics. Members of the press are hopping mad that the actress had the nerve to do this especially since the press corps also included veteran political journalists from the top papers in Pakistan. Meera – who is known for her erratic behaviour – is yet to make a statement about the fiasco.

Sensible girl
Samina Peerzada is too caught up playing vamp on the small screen to spare a thought for directing projects. Peerzada, who with Rubina Ashraf and Shagufta Ejaz, is considered the best vamp on the telly, says that the money is good and that a lot of time and money is wasted on directing projects when she could be making still more money acting in them.

Raring to go
Babar Ali is back with a bang. The actor who took a one year hiatus from the industry has lots of offers from television and the big screen. He recently signed on for Parvez Rana and Masood Butt's films while Bichchoo, starring him and Saima, is to be released soon.

Doing it together
Javed Shaikh is producing a film titled Khulay Aasman Ke Neeche that stars him and Nadeem (right). The two actors are starring in a film together after quite a while. Films starring the two actors in the past such as Fazil's Faisla and Ustadon ke Ustad, Idrees Khan's Daulat ke Pujari and Iqbal Kashmiri's Jo Dar Gaya Woh Mar Gaya, did well at the box office.

Reason to be irritated
Sara Chaudhury is feeling bad that her films are not releasing on time. The actress' much delayed film Josh, directed by Hasan Askari, is yet to see the light of day while Uraan starring newcomer Faraz suffers the same fate. The actress has reason to feel peeved. All the television serials Chaudhury signed after she signed the films have released and been rather successful, getting good TRP ratings. However, it was always Chaudhury's desire to make it big in films.
