Sherri's role in Tere Bin Jiya Na Jaye has been received well by audiences
Shooting is fun
Sherri's role in Tere Bin Jiya Na Jaye (TBJNS) has been received well by audiences. Says the actress: "The entire shoot was like a picnic and I loved shooting for TBJNJ from beginning to end." Her role also helped her get two projects.
Hoping for the best
Resham received a favourable response for her portrayal of a depressed girl in her Eid release Pehla Pehla Pyar. The actress, who'a currently shooting for Javed Fazil's Main Laot Ke Aaonga, is hoping that the good response for Pehla Pehla Pyar will help her to get as good, if not better, roles in future.
Australian escapade
Saleem Shaikh, Sana and Meera were busy shooting in Sydney and Melbourne in Australia a couple of weeks back for Javed Shaikh's Khulay Aasman Ke Neeche. The team shot at quite a few picturesque locations including the Sydney Opera House, a favourite for film units from the subcontinent.
Roll call
Babar Ali's work schedules leaves him with little time to take roles on the big screen. But though he misses films, Ali is particular about doing roles with some substance even if that means donning negative shades. The actor would love to play a villain's role, something similar to Yeh Dil Aapka Hua where his role - that of Jahaniyan Shah - got him more attention than that received by second lead, Saleem Shaikh.
Quick takes
- Return to sensitivity Rukhsana Noor is back from the United States after a six-month hiatus and is planning to get back to doing what she is so good at - writing good film scripts. Noor gained appreciation for penning scripts that had much to offer the female characters in her films, be they rural or urban. Films like Ghunghat, Chooriyan and Mehendiwalley Hath appealed to her female fans because of the strong and sensitive characters their female leads portrayed.
- Trying her luck Reema is planning on making a TV soap that will stick to the storyline of her recent box-office success Koi Tujh Sa Kahan. The film director plans retain the original cast of the film with a few changes in the supporting cast.
- Hands on Saima has a new hobby these days and she's on to it hands on. Literally. The actress is busy trying to fortell what the future has in store for her co-stars and friends on the sets by reading their palms. Saima has done a course in palmistry from a local institute and is putting her newly acquired knowledge to good use. Question is , does she tell her rival heroines what fate has in store for them?
- Saving theatre Rufi An'am is concerned about the fate of theatre in Pakistan. She fears that due to neglect and a sheer lack of good scripts, the theatre industry faces a bleak future. The actress, who's shooting for her new film Jism, says emphatically that she would do everything within her means to save the theatre industry in Pakistan from dying an early death. She says: "Theatre is what gave me a break into the entertainment industry and I'm willing to do something concrete for its progress even if it means investing my own money in good stage plays."
