An unrehearsed act

Indian actor Feroz Khan had a tiff with Fakhr-e-Alam in Lahore while promoting brother Akbar Khan's film Taj Mahal: An Eternal Love Story. Indian actress Manisha Koirala was on the dias and Alam asked her as a matter of courtesy if she was nervous to which Koirala laughed. Khan, who was slightly inebriated, took offence to this and barged onto the stage.

Earlier during the promotion, Khan had tried to make some political statements and they did not go down well with the audience either. The Indian contingent was also uneasy with Khan's attitude, but maintained a dignified silence.

Makes sense

Laila's lead role with Shaan has not gone down well with her peers and she feels they're jealous of her success. Says Laila: "They are impatient. I went through a spate of insignificant roles before landing a good one. So why can't they wait their turn too?"

Let the truth be told

Nasir Adeeb is making a film on the life of Mukhtaran Mai, the village girl who was gang-raped in Pakistan four years back and whose case became controversial after four of the five rapists were let scot free this year due to lack of evidence. Adeeb decided to make the film after Mai visited the US and raised a storm by briefing the American press about the poor condition of human rights in Pakistan. Adeeb finished writing the script for the film after visiting Mai's village and meeting her family. The scriptwriter feels the truth has to be told even if the law of the land is blind.

This one's got bite

Veena Malik got bitten by a scorpion while shooting for her latest film in Kashmir. The actress was leaning against a tree for a shot when the scorpion bit her and she reportedly started screaming in fear. Malik was later given first aid.
