A first for Saima
Saima is shooting for a qawwali song for the first time in her career. The song is being filmed by Syed Noor for his film, Jhoomar, which is being shot at the Shabab Studios in Karachi. Saima was initially reluctant to shoot for the number considering the sleaze factor that has started creeping into such numbers in recent films. But Noor persuaded her to do it saying that it would be done aesthetically.
Great start
Mona Lisa has done a good job in her debut film Wapsi. The Shehzad Gul-directed film is based on the Alexandar Dumas novel The Count Of Monte Cristo and has been lapped up by audiences. Gul says that full credit goes to Lisa for having given a fantastic performance in the film. Lisa is also awaiting the release of her Indian film Qafila.
Good pair
Reema and Momy Rana are shooting for Rana's directorial debut War. Reema feels comfortable working with Rana as the two have worked together in projects in the past. Rana hopes to finish the project in the first quarter of 2007.
Saira says no
Saira Khan refuses to be lured by the big screen. Khan says that she s more than satisfied with the celebrity status that she has received from the television industry and better roles there keeps her hooked. A paucity of good roles in films is one of the main reasos why Khan refuses to take on films.
