Los Angeles: Kristen Stewart is an actress, a fashion spokeswoman and, apparently, a poet.

The Twilight star, who covers Marie Claire’s March fashion issue in Emilio Pucci and talks about “risk, romance, and having no regrets,” also penned a little “embarrassing” poem that the magazine decided to publish.

The sonnet, titled ‘My Heart Is a Wiffle Ball/Freedom Pole’, was written after her the fifth and final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn — Part 2, and deals with love during a road trip. At least we think it does.

“I like being able to hit on something, like, ‘There it is.’ I don’t want to sound so... utterly pretentious... but after I write something, I go, ‘Holy [expletive] that’s crazy,’” the 23-year-old told the magazine. “It’s the same thing with acting: If I do a good scene, I’m always like, ‘Whoa, that’s really dope.’”

The actress, who signed on to the first Twilight film when she was 17, told the magazine’s Karl Taro Greenfeld that her one regret is forgoing a college education, though she admits she thinks she’s smart, but “definitely not book smart in that way.”

And when it comes to acting, the Camp X Ray star said she has no idea what she’s doing, despite being one the world’s highest-paid actresses, reportedly earning an annual $22 million (Dh80.8 million) at the end of June 2013, the magazine said.

“Dude, I have no idea what I’m doing, and that’s kind of how I love it,” the Chanel spokeswoman said. “I had no idea Twilight was going to be huge. Certain movies I’ve done I thought were going to be amazing did nothing. So it’s fun not having so much control. It’s kind of a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants lifestyle — it’s fun, but it’s scary as [expletive].”

And if it’s not scary, she said, it’s probably not the right thing.

Her relationship with co-star Robert Pattinson flung her even further into the spotlight. She’s been criticised for not handling it all so well, repeatedly appearing gawky and uncomfortable in many interviews.

“I have an embarrassing incapability, seriously, of summoning fake energy,” she said. “I’m just not very good on TV, and it’s not my main goal in life to get good at it. People are like, ‘She just can’t handle’ — for lack of a better word — ‘the spotlight.’ No, actually, I can’t, and that is totally who I am. I love being an actor, but I’m the last person to want to have a birthday party. I don’t try to force it or turn it into something else or fabricate this personality... so I totally agree when people say I’m, like, the most awkward person.”

Despite her solid acting chops, Stewart was torn down in the media for reportedly cheating on Pattinson with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders in July 2012. That’s a topic that almost always comes up when it comes to her love life.

Still, she says she will “stand by every mistake I’ve ever made, so judge away.”

“You don’t know who you will fall in love with,” she said. “You just don’t. You don’t control it. Some people have certain things, like, ‘That’s what I’m going for,’ and I have a subjective version of that. I don’t pressure myself... If you fall in love with someone, you want to own them — but really, why would you want that? You want them to be what you love.”
