Director Ashish R. Mohan is working on a black comedy set against the backdrop of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Mohan, who made films such as Khiladi 786 and Welcome to Karachi, is busy working on his next film.

“I am working on a film that revolves around people who get affected due to the 1984 riots. It’s about a couple who wanted to get married. It’s a black comedy,” said Mohan.

Mohan insists that his yet untitled film will not get into the details of the riots.

“The film has nothing to do with the riots or Indira Gandhi assassination or the Gandhi family,” he said.

Mohan is working on the final draft of the film and once he is done, the casting process for the film will begin.

“The film will most likely go on floors this year in October or November. We will mainly shoot in Delhi and Lucknow,” he added.
