Sunday - The 'Sangeet' party

The outfits: Thirty-two-year-old bride Bebo wore an orange and gold lehenga saree by celeb designer Manish Malhotra, paired with vivid green emeralds. While Saif, 42, opted for a white Nehru jacket over a kurta.

The guest list: Saif’s sister Soha and her hunky man, Kunal Khemu, were the first guests to arrive, closely followed by Amrita Arora, Ranbir’s mum Neetu Singh and Reema Jain. Other guests included Karan Johar, Tusshar Kapoor, Krishika Lulla, Malaika Arora Khan and designers Manish Malhotra and Vikram Phadnis. The most surprising no-show was Bebo's fave cousin, Ranbir Kapoor, who opted to go to Zoya Akhtar's birthday party instead – brush off!

The insider details: Held in Saif’s new duplex apartment in Bandra, the couple arrived at 9pm, with the party continuing on until the crack of dawn. And while the event was widely reported to be a Sangeet, dress designer Manish Malhotra said it was “just a party”. Guests enjoyed plenty of high-end cuisine, while Joss, Karan, Malaika and Tusshar put on a show.

Monday - The Family Dinner

The two clans got together for a relaxed dinner at Mumbai's Taj Hotel, for which Kareena wore a bold pink saree by her friend Manish (who was the exclusive designer for the week-long party).

Tuesday - Officially married and the big party

The outfits: For the laid-back wedding registration on Tuesday morning, Kareena wore a simple salwar-kameez by Manish; while the gala bash at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Colaba involved an outfit change. She started the night exchanging vows in a 73-year-old gharara, which Bebo’s mother-inlaw herself wore to her wedding to Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi in 1969, and which her mother-in-law had worn in 1939 – it was painstakingly restored by Delhi-based designer Ritu Kumar. She then changed into a modern Malhotra burgundy gharara, which Manish says he injected with “old-world charm”. The belly-baring outfit showed how well the Heroine star’s strict pre-wedding regime of low carbs and Ashtanga yoga worked.

The guest list: This was the most star-studded event, with SRK, Preity Zinta and Anil and Sonam Kapoor there. Shweta Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor also made the effort. While Saif’s ex-wife Amrita Singh wasn’t there, his two children from his first marriage – Ibrahim, 12 and Sara, 19, were.

The insider details: Bebo cried after she and Saif exchanged garlands and rings, and an inside source tells us she “also choked up with emotion while thanking her mother Babita for organising the wedding”. And – fun detail! – songs from the couple’s films Chammak Challo and Mauja Hi Mauja, were the fave d-floor tunes.
