This isn’t the first time West has managed to overshadow a moment that should belong to someone else—Taylor Swift’s VMAs mic-snatch, anyone? But this time, he didn’t even have to say a word. The irony here is palpable.

A Black woman winning Best Country Album should have been the conversation of the night. The optics of that moment—an artist like Beyoncé breaking barriers in a genre historically resistant to diversity—should have been front-page news. Instead, the focus was on another woman’s decision to embrace exhibitionism, proving once again that in 2025, the discourse around women in entertainment still skews toward their bodies rather than their achievements.

Maybe next year, we’ll talk about talent instead of transparency—unless Kanye and Bianca have other plans.
