Blackpink in the area, indeed!

The band is back with big news: They’re embarking on a world tour in 2025. Despite going their separate ways from YG Entertainment, the group is reuniting for this highly anticipated return. Following their wildly successful Born Pink tour across 22 countries from 2022 to 2023, the band is preparing for another round of global performances. At midnight KST on February 6, the legendary quartet dropped a teaser, confirming their 2025 world tour.

The 21-second video, shared across Blackpink’s social media and YouTube channels, opens with a dark screen, followed by an aerial shot of a massive stadium filled with thousands of cheering fans waving pink lightsticks in unison. The camera zooms in, offering a glimpse of Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé delivering a dazzling performance on stage, leading to the exciting tour reveal.

Fans have been trending their return on social media. “This is the year of Blackpink,” wrote an excited fan. “it’s kind of crazy that they are announcing a tour without a comeback.”

Others were worried that the tour was too rushed and that the girls needed to finish their individual solo projects and drop a full album first. “It’s too early,” one wrote. “We want solo tours and activities since the solo eras have started not too long ago, the group tour is too rushed  and it’s taking advantage of the girls solo era exposure.” Essentially, many had the same complaint: “We are yet to get anything new. Please let them drop more music as a group, I’m not hearing the same songs,” another wrote. Fans expressed concerns, with many noting rumored missteps and missed beats during their previous world tour, saying that they needed time and rest.

Nevertheless, others are sure that the group will ensure powerful performances and that the girls will drop new music soon, and told fans not to be so impatient.   Though details about tour dates and cities remain under wraps, fans are still hoping for news, whether the band will release new music alongside their 2025 tour.

The girls have been excelling in their solo era: Rosé’s debut album Rosie, featuring the hit single APT, is currently ranked No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Jennie is gearing up for her first studio album, Ruby, set to release in March, alongside her solo tour, The Ruby Experience. Lisa’s new single, Born Again, featuring Doja Cat and Raye, dropped on February 6, and she’ll appear in season three of The White Lotus, premiering February 16. Meanwhile, Jisoo’s debut EP, Amortage, is set for release on February 14, and she stars in the new K-drama Newtopia, which premieres February 7 on Prime Video.
