"Woah, woah!" Peter Kavinsky is back, as he was often called, bringing a wave of that 2018 rom-com magic from To All the Boys that solidified his place as the ultimate fictional boyfriend. And what's more, he managed to make time for the show, despite an action-packed role of a CIA recruit in The Recruit. The two roles came together in a rather unexpected way. What’s even more fun? Both shows were filmed in South Korea, and Centineo only had a single day to squeeze in filming for XO, Kitty during the shoot for his spy thriller.

With the Netflix calendar jam-packed, Centineo's appearance in XO, Kitty season 2 came about in the most serendipitous way. In this season, fans of the To All the Boys universe are treated to a sweet cameo from Peter Kavinsky, who makes an appearance to support his old friend Kitty, played by Anna Cathcart. Their sibling chemistry, already solid from the original films, shines again in the K-drama spinoff. The cameo was nearly impossible given Centineo’s hectic schedule, but as he put it, "Anything for Anna. I think Anna is just wonderful and hard working and super talented, just a professional, and she deserves the world," he told Deadline.

Centineo, spoke fondly of Cathcart, praising her professionalism and talent. And even though stepping back into Peter Kavinsky's shoes was a daunting task due to the character’s iconic status, Centineo was glad that he made it happen.

For those who followed XO, Kitty season 1, Centineo’s surprise appearance was a nostalgic treat, especially with I Like Me Better playing in the background, which is an ode to the original franchise.

The second season of XO, Kitty hit Netflix on January 16, 2025, while The Recruit season 2, starring Centineo, followed closely on January 30, 2025.
