Ed Sheeran on how award shows are rigged

Singer Ed Sheeran says some music award shows are “rigged”.

The Lego House hitmaker has accused bosses of Britain’s Music of Black Origin Awards of giving accolades earmarked for his trophy cabinet to another star when he had to drop out of the prize-giving due to tour commitments, reports contactmusic.com.

Sheeran said: “Like most awards shows you don’t know what’s going to happen, whether it’s rigged or not. But I won an award in the summer for a very big award show and I won it ’cos Pharrell didn’t turn up.

“They said well, we were going to give it to him, but he’s not turned up so you can have it. I know award shows are rigged.”
