In an interview with Filipino TV, Charice's grandmother sets the record straight
A local entertainment programme, Showbiz Police, aired an interview with Teresita Relucio, grandmother of Charice Pempengco, alleging the international singer attempted to commit suicide.
It did not mention when, but the alleged suicide attempt was apparently due to the singer’s dwindling finances.
Relucio said her granddaughter’s bank account has been cleared out.
Rumours about Pempengco’s sad financial state have swirled for some time now, but the singer had denied in the past that she was having money problems.
As proof, she showed a newly purchased luxury car, paid for in cash. The interview only aired last week and could spawn new stories about Pempengco’s financial affairs.
