Anne Hathaway has a much more exciting event than The Dark Knight Rises premiere on her 2012 calendar. It has been confirmed that the actress is engaged.

Since Adam Shulman, Hathaway's actor boyfriend of three years, popped the question, Hathaway has been rocking an engagement ring around New York, a piece whose design was a collaboration between Shulman and Kwiat Heritage jewels.

"It took us a pretty long time to get together," Hathaway told Vogue last year, alluding to her trust issues with men after her relationship with Italian boyfriend Raffaello Follieri fell apart in public when he was exposed as a con man.

"When you finally realise that you can just be your own scared self and that you can still be sexy without trying to be, it's such a great relief. When uncondensed you is enough," she said of her relationship with Shulman.

While no date has been set for the pair to wed, we take great joy in knowing that her stylist Rachel Zoe might be selecting the all-important wedding dress.
