Films screening free in Dubai

A seven day event will take place at Al Serkal Avenue this month

Seven films will screen to the public for free between May 25 and June 1 at A4 Space in Al Serkal Avenue in Dubai as part of the Cinema Akil series of programmes.

The theme is ‘Meet the New Generation’, featuring films by young directors from across the Middle East. 

The series will begin with a screening of Zinzana by Emirati director Majid Al Ansari on May 25, followed by A World Not Ours by Mahdi Fleilfel on May 26; Oscar nominee Mustang, by Deniz Gamze Erguven, on May 27; Bota by Iris Elezi and Thomas Logoreci on May 28, Fidai, by Damien Ounouri, on May 29; As I Open My Eyes, by Leyla Bouzid, on May 30; Fish & Cat by Shahram Mokri on May 31 and Theeb by Naji Abu Nowar on June 1.

All films will screen at 7pm.

There will also be panel discussions with film directors Al Ansari (on May 25) and with Elizi on May 28, following their respective film screenings.
