Epic Hans Zimmer concert film with a UAE connect to release in Dubai

Fans of Hans Zimmer can soon experience the magic and storytelling power of celebrated composer and producer on the big screen with his new concert film Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamond in the Desert. 

Out on March 19 in select theaters worldwide, Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamond in the Desert captures live performance of some of the composer’s most revered compositions. 

Expect music from Hollywood blockbusters Dune, Gladiator, Interstellar, The Lion King and many more. The movie will also tap into his decades of cinematic masterpieces are brought to life by Zimmer’s band and a world-class orchestra at some of Dubai's iconic locations like Coca-Cola Arena, and the star-studded Al Wasl Plaza dome at Expo City Dubai.

As well as being Zimmer’s first entertainment special, the production of the feature in Dubai marked the first time the composer has officially collaborated with a destination. 

Featuring conversations with celebrities like Billie Eilish, Christopher Nolan, Denis Villeneuve, Finneas, Jerry Bruckheimer, Johnny Marr, Pharrell Williams, Tanya Lapointe, Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, and directed by Paul Dugdale, with Jerry Bruckheimer serving as Executive Producer, the film offers viewers a rare glimpse into Zimmer's creative process. It explores the drive to create and the stories behind his closest collaborations. 

Inspired by his time spent exploring Dubai, Zimmer also created a musical composition - Diamond in the Desert - for the city, another remarkable moment in his award-winning career.

 Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamond in the Desert will be released in select cinemas across the USA, Europe, Asia and UAE, with limited screenings beginning Wednesday, March 19. Cinemas in Australasia and other countries in the Middle East will screen the film at a later date.
