Arab, Indian and international stars to perform during 10-day celebrations

From top Arab stars to Bollywood singers and American rock bands, it’s going to be a mishmash of musical offerings this Eid. Kicking off on Thursday (Oct 10), the Eid in Dubai concerts will feature Arab Idol winner Mohammad Assaf, American rock band The Killers at Sandance, a performance by Italian-born opera singer Alessandro Safina and Indian Bollywood singer Aadesh Srivastava among others, all performing across town.
Organisers Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) say this Eid Al Adha celebrations, to continue until October 19, will be the longest ever.

Alessandro Safina with Orchestra Live in Concert: October 10, Madinat Arena, Madinat Jumeirah
Italian-born Alessandro Safina, the romantic opera singer is coming to woo his audiences in Dubai. The operatic tenor, who has helped create a new genre of pop opera music for this generation, will be bringing his soulful voice and skills to fans in the UAE. Safina has performed for the Queen of England and in the TV musical Moulin Rouge as well as alongside the multi-talented Sarah Brightman.

Arab Idol Tour Concert: October 10, Al Bustan Rotana Hotel
A part of the Arab Idol series,this concert features three stars of the famous TV talent show – winner Mohammad Assaf from Palestine, Syrian Farah Yousuf and Lebanon’s Ziad Khoury alongside artiste Faris Karim. Show starts at 9pm.

Sandance featuring The Killers: October 11, Atlantis, The Palm
American rock band The Killers, Of Monsters and Men and The Wailers are some of the acts you can expect at Sandance this October from 2pm onwards. Don’t forget to buy your early-bird tickets at a discounted rate and make sure you do not miss out on this amazing night of music and entertainment.

Karameesh Concert: October 16, Mall of the Emirates
This musical concert featuring young singers from the region is targetted at families, especially children with their famous edutainment-based musical performances. The show will be held from 6-8pm.

Rotana Concert - Rabeh Saqer: October 17, Al Habtoor Grand Hotel
Music fans are in for a super treat from Saudi star Rabeh Saqer, who will come on stage just for a day during Eid. The veteran singer, who is known for striking a chord with audiences across the region, will perform live on stage from 10pm at Al Habtoor Grand Hotel. One of his hit songs is Sahratna Al Laila.

Hala Al Turk Concert: October 17, Fashion Catwalk - The Dubai Mall
Small wonder, singer Hala Al Turk from Bahrain, who is popular in the region for her repertoire of songs including I love you mama, jointly with Saudi singer Mashael, has become a hit on YouTube. Hala, who got her big break at the famous Arabs Got Talent TV show, will be seen in action from 6-8pm.

Dandiya Raas with Aadesh Srivastava & Diwali Fair: October 18, Wonderland Theme & and Water Park, Oud Metha
Originating from North Indian traditions of Gujarat and performed during the Indian festival Navratri where every participant dances with a pair of Dandiyas (colourfully decorated sticks), Dandiya Raas with Aadesh Srivastava & Diwali Fair is an event for the entire family. Srivastava, an Indian music composer and Bollywood singer, who has collaborated with the likes of international artists such as Akon and Wyclef Jean, will be performing at the Dandiya Raas show which will be held from 5pm to 2am.
