Model-turned-actor Dino Morea has been going through a lean phase in the last two years, but he is not wallowing in self-pity. When tabloid! caught up with the actor during his visit to Dubai on Sunday, the Raaz star was upbeat about his future as he ran us through his back-up plan.

"I have made many mistakes in the past, career wise. But I am not going to make any more of them. Right now, I am looking for strong scripts which are backed by reliable, experienced producers. In the past so many of my good films were not marketed well and in the end they did not see the light of the day," says Morea, referring to films like Holiday and Aksar.

"I wish many more people had seen Holiday. I still have fans writing into me saying how much they loved the film after watching it on DVD. But I wish they had seen it on the big screens."

For now, he has two "promising" scripts on his hand.

Morea made his debut in 1999 with Bollywood musical Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi and has acted in more than two dozen films. But barring Raaz and Kandukondain Kandukondain, a Tamil film, he is yet to taste box-office success.

"If you are an actor's son, no matter how many flops you have, you still get that one fantastic offer. But it's not the case with actors who have no connections in the industry," he says. "For actors like me, every day is a struggle. You just need to fight your way in and then make it to the top. And I am not complaining."

Morea, however, has an impressive dating record and has dated beauties Lara Dutta and Bipasha Basu. Neither of the relationships worked out.

"The past is past. I have no regrets. Like they say, you win some and you lose some," he says.
