Dhanush's "dummy lyrics" — the spontaneous words he wrote for the soundtrack to his wife Aishwarya's film 3 (Moondru) — were not intended to actually make it to the film, revealed the actor and singer who has shot to fame with an online video of the song Why This Kolaveri Di?. Dhanush wrote the lyrics for all the songs on the soundtrack, except the one written by Aishwarya. He told a crowd at a music launch in Chennai on Friday, "While composing the music, Aishwarya asked me to write dummy lyrics. These lyrics made it to the album."

The much-awaited audio launch was held at the grounds of St George's School in the South Indian city, and even with a laser show, the spotlight was on Dhanush and music composer Anirudh Ravichander at his confident best.

Before launching into the hit song, Dhanush teased the crowd of college students who had thronged the venue with a jazz version.

Connecting with the crowd with his unpretentious behaviour and boy-next-door looks, Dhanush rocked as he sang the number that went for an encore, much to the delight of the audience. He also received applause when he called himself "a local".

About his role, he said, "Of all the characters that I have essayed so far, this was most difficult."

The film is a love story with Dhanush and Shruti Hassan playing students.

Produced by Kastoori Raja, Dhanush's father, under the banner, R.K. Productions Wunderbar Films, it is scheduled for a January release.
