Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley married her Dubai-based hotelier boyfriend Peter Haag in an intimate ceremony at an ancient monastery in Austria on July 23 but chose to go public with it on twitter now.

Unlike her ostentatious on-screen weddings, it was a low-key affair with no Bollywood stars in sight. tabloid! shot her a quick e-mail on Tuesday to find out about life as Mrs Haag, being a new bride and pregnancy rumours...

Gulf News: How does it feel to be Mrs Haag?

Celina Jaitley: It's a wonderful feeling. It feels like I have taken a new step towards embracing my womanhood.

What made you choose to wed in Austria? Are you planning to have a reception in Dubai?

It made sense because Peter's family is based in Austria and mine are scattered around India and England. And yes, we love Dubai and we consider it our home. Regarding a party in Dubai, we have recently been through a family tragedy so that will have to wait. But, we do plan to have a get-together for our friends there eventually.

Was it your decision to keep your Bollywood friends out of your wedding deliberate?

A wedding is a personal, private affair and we wanted it to be about intimacy and not pomp or show. We know that all my friends and well-wishers support and bless me. In fact most of them even knew I was going to get married.

Does it disturb you to hear reports that you had a secret wedding because you were pregnant?

Babies are bound to happen sooner or later since Peter and I love kids. It's nothing to worry about since it [parenthood] is another step in life. I wish people would leave that to us and not be worried about our family planning.

Any plans for honeymoon?

It's a secret [she added a smiley].
