Celina Jaitley's representatives were compelled to come out with an official statement on her marital status after rumour mills were abuzz that the blue-eyed beauty had secretly tied the knot with her longtime beau, Dubai-based hotelier Peter Haag.
"Celina Jaitley and Peter Haag are very much together. They exchanged rings in a small ceremony in Mumbai with their first families present. The official wedding date is yet to be announced," said a statement from her publicist.
The 29-year-old actress, who has done many stage shows here and filmed Will You Marry Me? in Fujairah last year, spent Christmas and New Year with Haag.
"I was at the Cairo Film Festival as jury member and flew back via Dubai for three days. I've been in and out of Dubai for work and love. Peter is a very high-level executive in a hotel chain and because of his job keeps a low profile," Jaitley was quoted as saying by Indian daily Mid-Day.
"I am not married to Peter. When I do get married we will be announcing it properly and in the right way. I have so many releases and endorsements coming up in the next couple of years that marriage is not on the cards yet. But Peter and I do plan to get married one day. I hope now with the marriage rumours Peter doesn't run away," Jaitley added.
