The book that changed my life is called ‘Clockwork Angel’ by Cassandra Clare. It’s the first book in ‘The Infernal Devices’ trilogy and it’s a prequel to one of my favourite series, ‘The Mortal Instruments’.

At the start, I was unsure of starting a trilogy right after finishing a series, but the moment I read the book, I was hooked and ended up reading the six-book sequel series as well. The book was beautiful, everything was smooth, the plot, the writing style and the word choice.

‘Clockwork Angel’ made it so easy for me to instantly attach myself to the characters, so much so that I couldn’t bear to think they were not real. The ending of the book was not predictable at all, and I found myself restless until I got my hands on the next book. I cried like a baby during a tragedy, laughed myself hoarse at a celebration and sighed in relief at a solution.

This was the book that caused me to think that the characters were my best friends, the book that made me yearn for more, the book that made me smile during times I probably shouldn’t when I think about it. This was the book that helped me explore realms I never knew existed, this book changed my life by showing me things I would never have seen otherwise.

The emotions I felt during this book were overwhelming. I felt like I was living in a different world, a world where I didn’t have to worry about homework or chores. A world where the biggest issue I had to worry about was ridding the world of demons and saving lives.

I would recommend it to every bookworm I know and meet.
