Aamir Khan unveiled the trailer of his latest film ‘Secret Superstar’ to UAE media

Aamir Khan who plays a conceited and smarmy music composer in his new film, Secret Superstar, claims he had a ball playing the “obnoxious” role.
“I have been brought up my parents to be a well-behaved person and to speak politely to everyone around me. But when Advait [Chandan, director] gave me this opportunity to be obnoxious and hit on every woman I come across and be rude to people openly, I took it on. This character is alien to me, but I had fun,” said Khan. In the trailer, Khan channels all things grating in an individual and gives a funny spin to it.
So was he inspired by anybody in particular in Bollywood?
“You will see various shades of various people in the industry. I did not base it on just one person and perhaps you can decide while watching the film,” said Khan.
The trailer of Secret Superstar was revealed to a select few local media on Wednesday and was followed by a video conference with the crew. The film chronicles the life of a young girl (Zaira Wasim) from a troubled home who hits the big leagues when she uploads a music video on the internet, wearing a burqa. She becomes an instant social media sensation and her life is transformed.
Secret Superstar releases in the UAE on October 19.
