Rani Mukerji returns as top cop

Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji, who played a fearless cop in ‘Mardaani’, is back to clean up the grime on the streets.

Mukerji will return in her hit role of Shivani Shivaji Roy in ‘Mardaani 2’. The original saw her hunt down the kingpin of a child trafficking racket; and the sequel, directed by Gopi Puthran, will see her locked in a battle with a 21-year-old villain. Puthran was ‘Mardaani’s’ writer.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, this will be Mukerji’s next release after the blockbuster ‘Hichki’.
