Becomes the highest grossing Bollywood film in India

Aamir Khan’s latest movie PK has crossed the Rs3 billion (Dh173 million) mark, becoming the highest grossing Bollywood film in India, according to its producers.
The alien drama, which criticises self-styled gurus, collected Rs115.8 million on its third Sunday since releasing on December 19, bringing its total earnings to Rs3.05 billion.
PK has already broken the previous domestic earning record set by Dhoom 3 (Rs2.7 billion) but it is yet to catch up with the action thriller in the international box office.
The Rajkumar Hirani-directed film has faced the ire of right-wing organisations who said the movie disrespects Hinduism, but the controversies have not affected its box-office climb.
PK also stars Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput.
