Photos: Inside Bollywood star Mouni Roy wedding to the Dubai-based Suraj Nambiar

After weeks of speculation, Bollywood actress Mouni Roy finally tied the knot with her Dubai-based fiance Suraj Nambiar in an intimate wedding in Goa.

Surrounded by her celebrity friends from television, Roy and Nambiar were married in a traditional Malayali ceremony, with the actress dressed in a red and white sari, while the groom looked dapper in a cream and gold outfit from their early morning wedding.

In a series of photos posted by ‘bride squad’ that featured actress Mandira Bedi, Aamna Sharif and Aashka Goradia, the couple were all smiles as they posed with their loved ones post the morning ceremony.

While announcing their wedding on social media, Roy posted a loved up message saying: “I found him at last.. Hand in hand, blessed by family & friends , We re married!!!!!!!!!!! Need your love and blessings…27.01.22 Love, Suraj & Mouni.” The groom also shared a series of pictures on his Instagram and wrote: “27.01.2022 — Married my best friend and the love of my life. Feel like the luckiest man alive.”

Messages poured in for the couple from many of her Bollywood friends, along with her television co-stars, including one from the Minister of Women and Child Development of India Smriti Irani (pictured) who once shared screen space with Roy in Ekta Kapoor’s iconic show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’.

“This girl came into my life 17 years ago... they claimed she was a novice then but such was her wisdom that she brought warmth and much joy along with the life lessons she infused amongst those who are lucky to have her as a friend, as family. Today she begins a new journey. May all the Gods be kind and bless her with happiness, prosperity and good health.. for the boy.. well you are one hell of a lucky man .. God bless @nambiar13 .. love you @imouniroy,” wrote Irani.

Aside from Irani, filmmaker Karan Johar wrote: “Congratulations to the both of you! Best years ahead,” while Rajkummar Rao added: “Heartiest congratulations to both of you.” Wishes also poured in from Anushka Sharma, Kangana Ranaut, Radhika Madan and more.

Social media had been abuzz a day earlier with pictures Mouni Roy’s henna or mehendi and haldi pre-wedding ceremonies.

According to reports, the couple has been forced to arrange a low-key wedding in Goa on account of the pandemic. However, several celebrity guests did show up at the wedding, including her ‘Naagin’ co-star Arjun Bijlani and Meet Brothers, who shared some fun-filled moments from the pre-wedding ceremonies with several videos featuring the bride dancing with abandon and enjoying the festivities.

While Roy had never officially confirmed she was in a relationship with Nambiar, the actress was often spotted in Dubai spending weekends and vacations here and was even a recipient of the UAE golden visa last year.

In terms of work, the actress is awaiting the release of her movie ‘Brahamastra’ in October of this year, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead and is produced by Johar. She also has ‘Mogul’ in the pipeline, slated for a 2023 release.
