In an emotional message, Sridevi’s daughter advises followers to cherish their parents
Sridevi’s daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, has posted an emotional tribute to her mother a week after the Bollywood icon died in Dubai.
In an Instagram post, Kapoor advised her followers to cherish their parents. She wrote: “On my birthday, the only thing I ask of all of you is that you love your parents. Cherish them and devote yourself to making them feel that love. They have made you. And I ask that you remember my mother fondly, pray for her soul to rest in peace.”
She emphasised on the strong relationship that Sridevi and her husband, Boney Kapoor, shared: “Let the love and adulation you’ll showered on her continue and please know that the biggest part of my mother was the love she shared with papa. And their love is immortal because there was nothing like it in the whole world."
Kapoor added in her tribute that her mother stood for: “Dignity, strength and innocence.” She ended her note thanking Sridevi’s fans: “Thank you for the love and support everyone has shown us in the past couple of days. It’s given us hope and strength and we can’t thank you all enough.”
Sridevi's untimely death had sent shock waves across India. She was found dead in the bathtub of her hotel room in Jumeirah Emirates Towers hotel in Dubai. Authorities confirmed that she died due to "accidental drowning".
The actress, who started her career in Tamil films, was cremated on February 28.
Her family released an emotional statement thanking all her fans for their support and urged the media to respect their privacy.
An urn carrying Sridevi’s ashes was flown to Chennai on Friday by her husband, Boney Kapoor, for immersion in the sea off Rameswaram.
