From Kiara Advani to Taapsee Pannu, Bollywood stars have blockbuster releases planned for 2022

2022 is going to be a busy and, hopefully, profitable year for these actresses with a wide choice of films set to release this year.

Kriti Sanon is all geared up for a hectic year as she is set to lead in three movies with well-known stars. Sanon has coming up this year, 'Ganapath' alongside Tiger Shroff, 'Bachchan Panday' with Akshay Kumar and 'Bhediya' opposite Varun Dhawan. She is also working in 'Shehzada' and 'Adipurush'.

Taapsee Pannu looks like the busiest of the lot with the maximum count of 2022 releases compared to others on the list. OTT project ‘Looop Lapeta’ is set for a February release, while 'Shabaash Mithu' is reportedly all set for a theatrical release. Pannu has also completed shooting for two horror flicks – Anurag Kashyap's 'Do Baaraa' and Ajay Bahl's 'Blurr,' the latter is her maiden production venture. Playing a light-hearted role amid all these movies, she will star alongside Pratik Gandhi with 'Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan'. Apart from Hindi cinema, 'Pannu' is planning a Telugu comeback after a four year break with 'Mishan Impossible'.

Alia Bhatt would have been promoting her two new films, 'RRR' and 'Gangubai Kathaiwadi', if not for the current COVID situation. In the later part of the year, she will also be starring in 'Brahmastra'.

After an exciting 2021 when her 'Shershaah' became a massive OTT hit, Kiara Advani now has eight projects in the works, three of which will be released this year: 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2', 'Jug Jug Jeeyo', and 'Govinda Naam Mera'. In 2023-2024, she'll be seen in a number of South-Indian films, including Ram Charan Teja's next and NTR Jr's next project. Reports suggest that she may also appear in Shankar's upcoming film alongside Ranveer Singh. 'Karram Kurram', directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, and Sajid Nadiadwala's next, starring Kartik Aaryan, are on her Bollywood schedule for 2023.

Rakul Preet Singh also has a full schedule for the years 2022 and 2023. The projects include 'Cinderella' (a thriller starring Akshay Kumar), Attack (stars John Abraham alongside Jacqueline Fernandez) Indra Kumar's 'Thank God' starring Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra, Ajay Devgn's 'Runway 34', 'Doctor G' starring Ayushmann Khurrana, and Chhatriwali, a funny social comedy. The majority of these projects are finished or nearing completion.

Jacqueline Fernandez has five definite releases — 'Attack' with John Abraham, 'Vikrant Rona' with Sudeep, and 'Bachchan Pandey' with Akshay Kumar. While 2022 looks like a blockbuster year for the actress, Fernandez has been embroiled in controversy taking the focus away from her movies.

Deepika Padukone has been quite picky in her film choices, beginning with her OTT debut 'Gehraiyaan'. Shakun Batra, of Kapoor & Sons fame, is directing the film which is intended to be a delicate look at relationships. Then there's 'Pathan', a big-budget production starring Shah Rukh Khan.

Jahnvi Kapoor is preparing for the release of three back-to-back films in which she plays the lead character, following the box office triumph of 'Roohi' in 2021. The light-hearted production of Aanand L Rai ‘Wishing you luck! Jerry’, and thriller 'Mili' by her father Boney Kapoor, are set for release. Following that, she'll start filming 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi'.
