Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has recorded a song with legendary Punjabi musician Gurdas Maan and he feels lucky to have got an opportunity to collaborate with the icon.

The song, Ki Banu Duniya Da, is the re-worked version of Mann’s hit with the same name and will feature in season four of MTV Coke Studio.

“I was very busy with my work, when I got a call about the song. But the moment I heard about the collaboration with Mann sir, I was ready for it. I was very excited to record the song. Working with Gurdas Maan was a dream come true,” Dosanjh said.

The song was originally written and composed in 1982. The track, arranged by Jatinder Shah, reiterates a message for the youth that speaks about not forgetting one’s roots in this age of modernity.

The singer said they have kept the essence of the original song, but have re-worked it and added new elements.

“The charm of the original song cannot be matched. We have not copied it completely. We have just made it in a new way. We have added new elements. Like the original, the new version was also recorded in a live setting, which has kept the soul of the song alive.”

Dosanjh is set to make his Bollywood debut with Abhishek Chaubey’s Udta Punjab, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
