A string of celebrities are ready to embark on an exciting chapter in their lives as they gear up to become mothers.

The latest to join the mum-to-be brigade is pop idol Britney Spears. The singer, through a cheeky Instagram post on Monday, announced she is pregnant with her third child, five months after a judge ended the controversial guardianship the pop icon said barred her from having more children. Her latest pregnancy is her first child with her partner Sam Asghari, a fitness trainer. "I got a pregnancy test... and uhhhhh well... I am having a baby," the 40-year-old said on Instagram with her fans and followers.

In her pregnancy announcement post, she also talked about perinatal depression and performing yoga in the run up to the birth. Britney Spears is already mother to two sons, Sean and Jayden, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. She got engaged to Sam Asghari in September 2021, but they are yet to announce they are formally married. According to media reports, Asghari was born in Tehran, Iran, and is the youngest of four children. Eventually, he immigrated to America, setting down roots in Los Angeles with his father, when he was 12 years old.
