The decision to skip cinemas comes in light of ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan

Bhool Chuk Maaf, starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, will skip a theatrical release in the UAE, India, and globally, and will premiere directly on Prime Video on May 16. The decision comes in light of the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan.
The announcement was made by the movie's producers' Maddock Films via a post on X (formerly Twitter), which read: “The spirit of the nation comes first! 🇮🇳 Watch Bhool Chuk Maaf directly on @PrimeVideoIN, May 16 #BhoolChukMaafOnPrime.”
Set in the heart of Banaras, Bhool Chuk Maaf follows the story of Ranjan, a hopeless romantic from a small town who lands a coveted government job—his golden ticket to marry the love of his life, Titli (Wamiqa Qabbi). But there's a twist. In his desperation, Ranjan had once made a vow to an Indian deity, promising something significant in return for his dreams coming true. Once he achieves his goal, he conveniently forgets the promise—only to find himself caught in a series of bizarre and comic situations that won’t let him move forward until he makes good on his word.
What follows is a delightful rollercoaster of love, fate, divine intervention, and redemption.
The comedy of errors will see Ranjan try to juggle his love life, career, and spiritual debt with comedic flair.
