Fortuneteller Helene Maalouf predicts what the stars will do in 2008.
Helene Maalouf is a fortuneteller. She reads coffee grounds and says she can see images. Very popular in Lebanon, she often receives visits by the rich and famous. For tabloid! she predicted what the next year holds for some Lebanese stars.
Nancy Ajram will launch her movie career and she will succeed in whatever she does during the year. This is also the case for Wael Kfouri, who will sing a duet and star in a movie. Diana Haddad will also enjoy great success this year.
Slow success
But success will be slow for Elissa, although Helene sees her receiving an award for her work.
Professionally, the year also won't be very fruitful for Haifa Wehbe, plus, the beautiful and sexy singer will achieve emotional stability. Najwa Karam's heart will find happiness this year.
Some stars will have health problems, such as George Wassouf. Helene predicts he will seek special cures and medicines.
New song
Wadih Safi should also take care of his health. The Lebanese star will sing a new song with a group of artists on a special occasion. Nicole Saba may also experience health problems. She will sing a remix of her old songs.
Ragheb Alame will be preoccupied by the health of a family member. But for him the year will be full of good surprises. Helene sees him conducting business abroad or singing with a foreign artist.
And last but not least, Lebanese diva Fairouz will solve long-standing problems and will schedule tours in Europe and the United States.
Accent switch
Lebanese singer Nourhane decided recently to take up residence in Dubai. And it seems she doesn't like to leave a job half-done, so she also decided to sing in the Gulf accent. That's why she recently met Emirati musician Fayez Saeed. During the meeting, Nourhane listened to a song that Fayez created just for her. The lyrics bear the signature of Emirati poet Abdullah Al Shamsi.
Nourhane is now searching for an Emirati director to shoot the video clip in which she intends to show the real lifestyle of the Gulf.
Elissa's new album
Lebanese singer Elissa, who will be performing in Dubai with Egyptian singer Amr Diab on New Year's Eve, just released her new album, Ayami Bik (My days with you). The album contains 11 songs whose lyrics and tunes are signed by several artists such as Ahmad Madi, Mohammad Rifai, Amir Taime, Nizar Francis, Yehia Hassan, Tamer Ali and Samir Sfeir.
This album was an occasion for a new collaboration between Elissa and artist Marwan Khoury who put his signature to the words and music of one of the songs.
The two artists were on bad terms because of a song entitled Kermalak (For you) that Marwan wrote for Elissa and which was included in her last album. It is not known how the two artists made up, but it is known that the reconciliation was made possible by the efforts of certain parties in Rotana.
The lucky bride
Dominique Hourani, who divides her time between London, Monaco and Vienna since she married an Austrian billionaire, spent a few days in Beirut recently. Bodyguards protected her constantly. "My husband fears for me. He is afraid of blackmail," she said.
Dominique also said her "husband is not the richest man she has met". But no doubt he is the most generous. Her husband bought her several wedding gifts including real estate on the French Riviera, a chalet in the Lebanese beach resort of Aqua Marine and a ten-storey building in central Beirut.
No disturbances
"I only wanted the penthouse, but the man of my life did not want me to be disturbed by anyone, so he decided to buy the whole building," she said.
Accustomed to staying in luxurious hotels — Dominique had a suite in her name during her engagement in l'Hotel de Paris, Monaco's most expensive hotel. The couple stayed at the Le Royal hotel when her husband was in Lebanon. Her husband apparently refused to stay in Dominique's apartment in a Beirut suburb.
Agony aunt Myriam
Lebanese singer Myriam Fares says her new album contains a different sort of song with various themes. Some of these themes have never been tackled by an Arab artist, she says, such as a song for which she intends to shoot a video clip in the coming month.
It tells the story of a man, who is in love with two women.
Myriam says that she loves this song because she actually did solve the problem of a man in love with two women. And one of these women was… guess who? Myriam's best friend.
She says that the true story of this tortured love affair is told in the song. "My friend and I solved the problem and now she's getting married to the man who finally chose to be with one woman," Myriam says.
So do you have a problem with your loved one, or a bad relationship? If yes, tell Myriam about it. Perhaps she has a solution and a tune to go with your story.
